Core Concepts
Core concepts explain the ideas behind Xchange — the terms that keep coming up in the guides and the reference. Meant for understanding, not for step-by-step reproduction.
The three concepts build on one another: a route describes a single data flow and uses a connection to the external system for it. All routes and connections together make up the configuration, which only goes into operation once it is activated.
- Routes — What a route is and which parts it brings together.
- Connections — What a connection is and how it relates to routes.
- Configuration — Active configuration, draft, and the activation lifecycle.
